First Official Image of Zendaya and Robert Pattinson in Nolan’s The Odyssey

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, new images from Christopher Nolan’s film The Odyssey, revealed in Empire magazine, confirm that Robert Pattinson plays Antinous, one of the countless men pursuing the love of Penelope, wife of Odysseus, and Zendaya stars as Athena. Another image showcases heavy makeup on John Leguizamo as Eumaeus, Odysseus’ swineherd.

Zendaya portrays Athena, the goddess of wisdom and war, and guide of Odysseus. Anne Hathaway plays Penelope, Odysseus’ wife, while Mia Goth is Melantho, Penelope’s unfaithful servant. Tom Holland appears as Telemachus, Odysseus’ son, and Charlize Theron plays Circe, the sorceress who traps Odysseus and his crew on an island. Other cast members include Benny Safdie as Agamemnon, commander of the Greek forces in the Trojan War, Lupita Nyong’o as Clytemnestra, Agamemnon’s wife, John Bernthal as Eurylochus, second-in-command of Odysseus’ ship, Samantha Morton as Anticleia, queen of Ithaca, along with Himesh Patel, Elliot Page, Bill Irwin, Jesse Garcia, Ryan Hurst, and Will Yun Lee in supporting roles.

The Odyssey is described as an “epic action-legend” film, with an unofficial budget of $250 million and shot using the latest IMAX technology. Production took place from February to August 2025 across Morocco, Greece, Italy, the UK, Ireland, Iceland, Scotland, and Los Angeles. Hoyte van Hoytema, who previously collaborated with Nolan on Dunkirk, Tenet, and Oppenheimer, is the cinematographer for the project.

The trailer for The Odyssey is expected to debut in theaters alongside Avatar: Fire and Ash. The film is set to be released on July 17, 2026.
